I bought a tractor in Virginia and found a shipper to bring it to Oregon. I was nervous about the process but it worked out well--at about 2/3 of the cost of a freight company. I'd do it again, though I learned that checking out the DOT credentials and references of the shipper is important.

Well lets see where to start. First truck showed up and the person sell it couldn't load it and it may have been too tall, second truck showed up and the person selling provided a new update weight that was too heavy for the truck. Doh. 3rd truck was the charm. Only issue I had was somewhere between Ohio and Seattle someone siphoned off my fuel. :(
