Once you have booked a load Uship asks for a deposit. That "deposit" is actually uship's fee. None...NONE of that money actually goes to the shipper. Whatever money is left over after that "deposit" is what actually makes it to the service provider. I did not like not being able to talk with the hauler in person first. I would have preferred to pay uship for the contact a refundable starting fee and then gotten the contact and then paid the balance after a chance to speak with the hauler.

I think Uship has a great service. I had a small tractor shipped from Virgina to Nebraska. All the bidders seemed OK. I think if your carefull in your pick of shippers it is a great service. I bought a John Deere lawn mover and etc. from a tractor company in Minnesota. I live in Washington state. I needed someone to pick it up at the company so I looked on uShip for help. The service provider did and excellent job dealing with the company and me. The price was lower than the big freight companies. I would use uShip again. I was very impressed.
