Just did my second (outrageously cheap) move using this site and both experiences have been awesome (first was Chicago - NYC for $600, second was NYC - Cambridge for $650). You describe your move and the items, and contractors bid on the job. Of course I love this site, because the contractors are ranked based on user reviews :)

Truck was not big enough. Freezer had to be laid on its side. This made freezer inoperable for twenty four hours. Freezer has to reset. All frozen food would not be fit for sale that accompanied it.
