I needed to ship 2 chairs and an end table to my mother-in-law's. We had no use for these pieces but they were in excellent condition and knew that my mother-in-law would enjoy them for years to come.
I had heard about uShip as the founders were from my MBA alma mater. I was impressed with their story when I was in school and this was the first time I had a need and wanted to try out the service. I must say I am very impressed as it met my needs perfectly - needed to move some stuff but not enough to warrant a full moving experience or pricing. Finding carriers with spare room who wanted to pick up some extra $$$ allowed me to find a great provider at a great price with ample information on their experience and background with other customers.
This was a very low pain exercise which significantly enhanced my experience. My overall transaction costs both in terms of dollars spent and time required to match my needs with a service provider's skills were very low. I'd recommend this offering to my friends in a heartbeat and will definitely come back in the future.
