I listed my pickup item, a shifter kart that was in the Twin Cities area (bought on eBay) on Wednesday. On Thursday evening I had a bid from a local (central Kentucky) shipper. It was significantly lower than other bids, so I took it even though I was concerned a little that perhaps the shipper had gotten the directions backwards - that he thought the item was going TO Minnesota, not coming FROM there! But when I spoke to him directly the next (Friday) morning, he had a truck on its way back from Seattle, and he sent it to pick up my kart. Then the driver called - he had the kart and they would be at my house at about 1 p.m. Saturday. I of course said, "No way." Kentucky is 13 hours from Minneapolis/St. Paul, and he was coming from the far side of that! But he assured me his team would be driving through the night . . . and sure enough they delivered the kart at twenty minutes to one, Saturday afternoon! A 48' trailer pulled up, completely bare except for my little 4 x 6, 2-foot high bright-red kart strapped to the back! Tim, the driver, said everyone who passed gave him a look that said, "You think you got a big enough trailer for that, buddy?" ! But I said I bet they thought he threw it on there to keep himself amused during stopovers. Whatever anyone on the road might have thought, I was tremendously impressed by both Osbourne shipping and uShip - the professionalism really shone through!
