I recently adopted a rescue horse named Cricket. When we went to pick him up he was very nervous & uneasy getting on the horse trailer and when we got him to his new home and unloaded him he was all worked up and drenched in sweat from just the short half hour haul. So one could understand why I was worried about the 6 hour trip he would have to make to Ohio with me when I went off to college.
I was ecstatic to find uship.com. It was exactly what I needed. A lady by the name of Sally messaged me on the website and then placed a bid. A checked out her page and she seemed like an excellent choice and her bid was a very good price, so I decided to go with her.
When Sally came to pick up Cricket, I looked in the trailer and along with Cricket would be a very large mare with a 3 month old foal the size of Cricket making the trip to Ohio. As I expected, Cricket was difficult to get on the trailer. But once he finally got on he seemed okay. He had his own large bedded box stall with hay and water at his constant access. As I watched them drive away I knew Cricket was in good hands, but I was still nervous for him.
The next morning I met Sally at the Ohio Horse Park where Cricket would find his new home. We brought him off the trailer and he was happy as can be. He was not stressed or worked up in the least bit. Sally told me that when they brought Cricket off the trailer to unload the mare and foal Cricket walked right off and then right back on. I could hardly believe that my Cricket would walk right onto a horse trailer.
This experience could have been very stressful and difficult. Being able to use uship.com was very helpful in finding a hauler. And Sally was great. She kept me updated about my horse and shipped him in mint condition. I hope that she will be able to haul him home from college for me, but if she can't I know where I can find another hauler!
