I contracted Mark Sheffer to drive a brand new Fedex step van from West Virginia to Washington at a time when weather conditions were horrible. Neither of us were familiar with each states requirements for access or what class vehicle it was, to determine if stops at scales and ports of entry were required. The whole trip started with delays due to outside forces such as delayed UPS deliveries of plates and bank delays of depositing wire transfers to the correct account so the vehicle could be released. Once Mark was on the road, things went well until he reached Wyoming state lines and he pulled into the port of entry. He was told he needed a IFTA and some kind of permit, which we didn't have and a truck driver there told him they could arrest him if he did not have these things. So of course these caused him great concern and when he decided the only thing he could do was to go tell them he did not have them and the situation of the trip he was making. He was told he did not need them and finally was on his way again. The step van had no radio, they make a lot of noise, and are very uncomfortable to drive, but Mark made the trip safely and expeditiously. I would definitely hire Mark again, but I don't know if he ever would drive another step van across country.
